I was having a discussion with a friend as we saw an ad about getting $400 off on a website that struck a conversation about gift giving.
She mentioned that her latest gift was from a friend, it was a flight ticket to Lebanon. It got me thinking, the gifting industry is seeing a change. We no longer give gifts because we are now in an era where we can get or afford what we want and there are too many options. It can’t just be a simple t-shirt or a cute cup anymore.
The transition is interesting because it’s more about experiences as oppose to a physical gift. A nice dinner, a getaway with your loved ones.. Maybe it’s just me but I like the idea of us not having the obligation to get physical products and rather gifting with experiences and memories.
